CNC Machining

Our CNC Division specializes in machine work involving large production runs of the same part. Computer controlled lathes, milling machines, and EDM (electric discharge machines), are used to produce large numbers of the same part with the lowest cost and highest quality.

Custom Machining & Fabrication

The Custom Machining and Fabrication Division employs precision equipment to manufacture single parts or small numbers of the same part. The group also makes fabricated parts usually made from components formed from structural or dimensional stock and welded together. The weldments may require machining in the machine shop before they are completed. This division also is able to produce and test operate completely assembled machines. Computer or PLC controls can be furnished to control the operation of the machines.

Peach State™ Fence Machine Company

The Peach State™ Fence Machine Company is a division of SMFCO. Peach State™ exclusively manufactures fence machine parts and machines. Products include table top parts, clamps, links and pins, spindle head parts, stay feed parts, eccentric arm & bronze gears, staple feed box parts and crimp drum parts.

Industrial Contracting

The Industrial Contracting focuses on supplying construction and maintenance services to area industries to augment a company's internal capabilities. The OCD usually performs their projects using the turnkey concept to supply a complete solution including engineering, design, labor, equipment, and materials. The OCD specializes in work requiring highly skilled millwrights, pipe fitters, and electricians. These craftsmen routinely perform work on shutdowns requiring detailed planning to perform the work within tight time constraints.

Engineering & Quality Control

Southern Machine and Fabrication Company provides complete engineering services to support SMF's manufacturing operations and local industry. The engineering group has engineers with extensive experience in industry. In cooperation with quality control, SMF engineers “reverse engineer” parts to produce drawings and specifications so existing parts can be properly reproduced. SMF's engineers are capable of providing design and drafting services to turn a customer's ideas into drawings and specifications that can be used to produce the final product in our shops.
